Should you hire Alpacas for your wedding day?

The pros and cons to having Alpacas on your wedding day.

We are accustomed to seeing animals used on Wedding days. Whether it’s a dove release or the family dogs as ring bearers, or maybe even a horse carrying the bride sidesaddle to the ceremony (Impressive!). We hardly raise an eyebrow to it anymore… but have you ever met an Alpaca?

The pros?

1- They make you smile!

Well, your looking at it! Alpacas are lovely big balls of happiness and they make almost everyone smile. The key to having a successful wedding is making sure all the guest are happy and who wouldn’t be happy with these guys around?

2- The wow factor!

“Remember {Blank & Blanks} wedding? The one with the Alpacas!”

Who would forget a wedding with Alpacas as the star guest? With big brown eyes, fluffy coats and horse like statue, they have a great and memorable presence.

3- They can escort you down the aisle!

If you’re having a civil ceremony, rather than a traditional church wedding and depending on the venue, this new friend of yours can walk you down the aisle, making a new alternative if you wish to break from tradition.

4- They are great for wedding photos!

These guys are great posers and are extremely friendly to photograph and guests. A beautiful walk around the grounds of your venue is all you really need to capture some epic memorable pictures you cherish in your photo album. Not to mention all the socials media sharing by your guests of their Alpaca selfies!

5- A great source of entertainment!

Most Alpaca owners will allow guest to walk the Alpacas, pet them, feed them and take photos with them. That would be great for both kids and adults during the day!

The cons?

It needs to be said, as it is an important one. Alpacas like all animals should be kept safe. Most, if not all Alpaca owners take great care of their Alpacas and If they feel the animal/s showing signs of distress, the will remove them. Not all animals can handle big crowds, tipsy bridesmaids or screaming kids, so this is why small groups of two can only handle an Alpaca at any time.

If you are unsure about how comfortable you feel with the idea, you can always ask to visit the Alpacas and make a day on the farm of it.

That all being said, as long as the bride and groom are comfortable around the animals and are massive animal lovers, there is no reason why you shouldn’t go ahead with hiring Alpacas for your big day!

Where do you hire Alpacas?

There are many Alpaca farms in England with different prices and packages to suit you. Google Alpaca farms closest to you for best results.
